October, 2011 – The students at Sacred Heart School received tricks and treats at the Heart Ministry Center as part of their Halloween celebration.
The students came to school dressed in orange and black to set the Halloween mood. After lunch the younger students changed in to their costumes, met up with their upper grade buddy (a student in fifth to eighth grade assigned to help them), and walked over to the Heart Ministry Center, the Sacred Heart outreach program.
John Levy, the Center director, and his staff set up a Halloween scavenger hunt inside their building for the students. The scavenger hunt led them around the Heart Ministry Center as they hunted for puzzle pieces. The first students to find all the puzzle pieces and make their puzzle won a special prize, but all the students received candy for participating in the scavenger hunt.
