Meet the 2011-12 Sacred Heart School Student Council Members

December, 2011 - The members of the Sacred Heart School student council have been picked and are eager to serve.  The fifteen students that were selected will now meet each month with the Principal to evaluate the needs of the school, make recommendations and suggestions for student activities, and also advice the Principal on what their fellow classmates would like to see at the school.

The selection process for the student council members was quite rigorous and these students should be commended.  They first had to fill out an application, which also required a letter of reference, and make sure it was handed in by the deadline.  The applications were then reviewed with these attributes in mind: leadership qualities, ability to converse with others in a constructive manner, current attendance record, interest in school improvement, and a demonstration of good citizenship.

Congratulations to the following students who will represent the student body on the 2011-12 Sacred Heart School student council: Prayvell Pope, first grade; Amaya Bisco and TaShiya McClinton, second grade; TeShya Houston-Hubbard and Cytaya Rucker, third grade; Addison Cousin-Hardrick and Davion Vaillant, fourth grade; Renee Carpenter and Maya Jackson, fifth grade; Athiam Mareng, sixth grade; Tori Dunston and Jessica Hudson, seventh grade; Ashley Gordon, La'Rasia Hill, and Divonica Smith, eighth grade.

The first through fourth grade students represent the Junior Council and meet once a week during the school day with the Principal.  The fifth through eighth grade students represent the Senior Council and meet on the first Monday of each month with the Principal. Congratulations to the 2011-12 student council representatives!
